Given the many challenges the shrimp industry is facing at the moment, it is not easy for farmers to maintain a successful and profitable crop. With perseverance, persistence, and thorough investment from breeds to processes, many shrimp farmers in Bac Lieu and Ben Tre have achieved success.
Mr. Hung’s shrimp farming household in Thanh Phu, Ben Tre is a typical example. With many years of experience in shrimp farming, he has gone through many ups and downs before reaping successful crops that bring high efficiency and profits. For Mr. Hung, shrimp farming is a very difficult job and depends greatly on environmental conditions, diseases, and weather. However, with determination, care, and investment, he has succeeded in many crops. In which, the most recent crop brought unexpected results, with a total area of over 13,000m2 and 10 ponds, he harvested more than 86 tons of shrimp, large shrimp size: 20 shrimp/kg, bringing in revenue of up to 11 billion VND.

The common point of many successful shrimp farming households is perseverance, especially the spirit of continuously learning and updating solutions suitable to the actual situation in the pond. In shrimp farming, the four important factors are “First breed, second environment, third bait, fourth technique”. More than 90% of farming households believe that it is necessary to invest in and carefully select reputable breeds with clear origins, especially those with strong resistance and good adaptability to the soil and climate conditions of the region.

Leading enterprises such as Viet Uc Group not only strive to research and apply superior science and technology from many countries to find solutions for the entire industry, from proactively sourcing parent shrimp to produce quality seeds for farmers, to spreading sustainable farming models, completely without using antibiotics, but are also on the journey to build a National Shrimp brand, enhancing image and value to conquer the world market with the aspiration of “Raising Vietnamese Shrimp”. These are very commendable efforts and that is also the reason why Viet Uc receives the trust and support of many shrimp farmers.

The shrimp industry is facing more challenges than ever, from external impacts on politics, economics, to direct factors such as prices, diseases, environment, etc. This is not a problem for any country. Shrimp farmers are still trying and making efforts every day to overcome difficulties, so it is necessary to have the connection and support from businesses as well as the state. Many challenges lie ahead but opportunities are still there, Vietnam has all the conditions to rise to the number 1 position in the world if everyone is united and determined for a common goal like the typical way that the Viet Uc Group is trying to do.
