At VietShrimp Asia 2026, one of the major technology events in the shrimp industry, Viet Uc Group presented a special highlight with the theme of breakthrough technology in breeding selection: “From genetic data, the shrimp breeding team gradually emerges.”
Through presentations by Viet Uc experts and a modern holographic display with vivid and engaging images at the booth, a clear picture emerged of how data science, Genomics technology, and artificial intelligence are gradually changing the way the shrimp industry develops its broodstock.
This never-before-seen information quickly attracted significant attention from farmers and experts, as it was not merely research data but practical solutions for the industry in the context of disease and environmental challenges affecting each farming season.
Viet Uc Group booth: A technology hub attracting a large number of visitors.
With its incredibly impressive technological space, the Viet-Australia booth became a vibrant destination at the event, continuously welcoming a large number of visitors, farmers, and partners.
Here, visitors had the opportunity to directly experience the technological space, listen to presentations from experts, and network, asking questions to learn more about the breeding program. The open and practical exchange helped farmers and the shrimp industry community better understand the value of genetic foundations in improving farming efficiency.

Over 20 years of genetic data: The foundation for groundbreaking advancements.
Behind the highlights at VietShrimp lies a persistent investment in science. In the context of Vietnam’s shrimp industry’s heavy reliance on imported broodstock, VietUc chose a long-term strategy: mastering genetic foundations through multi-generational breeding research.
Over two decades, the program has accumulated a large-scale genetic data repository, continuously recorded, analyzed, and standardized. This is a crucial foundation for monitoring the development of each generation of shrimp, while also opening up the possibility of precise and systematic genetic improvement.
A notable milestone in this strategy is the investment in building the Genetics and Genomics Research Laboratory Center, equipped with modern equipment and artificial intelligence, to analyze decades of accumulated genetic data, opening up the possibility of identifying and selecting important traits with greater accuracy.
Systematic investment in research infrastructure allows scientists to shorten analysis time, increase accuracy, and accelerate the genetic improvement cycle across generations.

From science to efficient farming: The “Shrimp Hatchery Team” is ready to launch.
According to representatives from Viet Uc, the breeding program has already shown positive progress in improving key traits such as growth rate, environmental adaptability, growth in low salinity, high survival rate, and broodstock stability.
In the context of the shrimp industry facing numerous challenges from climate change, diseases, and increasingly demanding market requirements, solutions based on genetics are expected to help farmers improve survival rates, optimize production efficiency, and minimize risks.
Notably, from this genetic data platform, a “shrimp broodstock squad,” the result of research and selection over many generations, is gradually emerging and will officially launch on March 22, 2026.
This is considered a significant milestone, not only for Viet Uc but also opening up a new perspective on the future development of shrimp broodstock in Vietnam, contributing to improved shrimp farming efficiency in the face of growing challenges.
Shrimp farmers and the industry community can follow the launch event of the new Viet-Australian Shrimp Seed Team on the official fanpage of Viet Uc Group (https://www.facebook.com/tapdoanvietuc.chuyengiatom) to avoid missing this special launch.
