On February 14, in Quy Nhon City (Binh Dinh), a workshop was held on “The transformation of marine aquaculture from traditional to industrial”. The workshop is part of a series of events “Developing the aquaculture industry: Sustainable exploitation – Promoting aquaculture” organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Viet Uc Group has joined to spread the message “For a sustainable high-tech Vietnamese shrimp industry”.
Attending the workshop were: Mr. Tran Dinh Luan – Director of the Department of Fisheries; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huu Dung – Chairman of the Vietnam Seafarming Association; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh province; representatives of Phu Yen province; leaders of Tuoi Tre Newspaper and representatives of the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development, Sub-Departments of Fisheries of the Central coastal provinces and cities, experts, scientists, businesses, and people who catch and raise aquatic products in the country.
Representing businesses in the shrimp industry, Mr. Nguyen Cong Can – Deputy General Director of Technology of Viet Uc Group also shared with more than 200 delegates about the solutions that Viet Uc has implemented in applying high technology to farming and sustainable development.
In particular, the greatest success that Viet Uc has contributed to stabilizing the input for the whole industry is the proactive source of parent shrimp for high-tech shrimp seed production.
This is not only a source of pride for Vietnam to officially join the 4 major powers in the world (USA, Singapore, Thailand) to proactively source parent shrimp, contributing to changing the ranking of the Vietnamese shrimp industry on the world map, but this is also the key to proactively producing high-tech shrimp seed sources, increasing the success rate and profits for farmers.
For shrimp farmers, seed determines more than 50% of the success rate of each crop. Viet Uc Group continuously researches and applies new technologies, not only improving the characteristics of shrimp seed through each generation but also spreading solutions to shrimp farmers on processes, models, and technologies, to improve the efficiency of the crop, together Raising Vietnamese Shrimp.
The workshop was successful and highlighted the orientations and solutions that need to be implemented in the coming time. Especially the messages were conveyed to farmers to change their thinking together, converting from traditional to industrial models.


Previously, on the afternoon of February 13, the delegation visited the Viet Uc Phu My High-Tech Shrimp Farming and Production Complex. The visit helped the delegation better understand the investment in the high-tech commercial shrimp production model of the Group.
Here, Mr. Le Van Ben – Vice President of the Vietnam Marine Aquaculture Association, shared: “The Viet Uc Phu My high-tech shrimp farming model is a model that not only produces high productivity and quality, bringing great economic value, but also solves environmental problems and other problems that traditional shrimp farming has. The application of modern science and technology in the development of shrimp farming in particular and marine farming in general in an industrial direction is a necessary direction for large-scale production, forming a value chain”.
