Typhoon Yagi (Typhoon No. 3) passed, leaving behind too many losses and damages to the aquaculture industry in the North. Once the storm has passed, humanity and kindness will be a solid foundation to sow green seeds of hope. Accompanying the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Viet Uc Group, a representative enterprise in the shrimp seed sector, has been joining hands to help shrimp farmers in the North overcome challenges.
After days of struggling to “run away from the storm”, shrimp farmers in particular and people in the North in general are still looking for the fastest way to overcome the consequences to continue returning to their daily lives. Even in the centers affected by the storm such as Quang Ninh, Hai Phong… many shrimp farming households, despite careful preparation, could not prevent the terrible destruction of storm Yagi. The scene of devastation after the storm such as collapsed greenhouses, broken ponds, blown roofs, torn bunds, damage and heavy losses to facilities, forced farmers to almost rebuild from scratch. In particular, after the storm there was flooding, so farmers had to thoroughly improve the environment to avoid affecting the upcoming farming season. Faced with this situation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has launched a plan to support the recovery of aquaculture production after storm No. 3. Representing the shrimp seed sector, Viet Uc Group has proactively planned to accompany farmers in the Northern region, with more than 57 million Viet Uc shrimp seeds (equivalent to more than 8 billion VND), which will be donated and partly supported to help shrimp farmers in the North prepare for the new farming season. Not only giving 100% of shrimp seeds to farmers who suffered heavy losses, from 60-80% to farmers who were also affected, Viet Uc is also ready to accompany in terms of techniques, practical solutions for farming after the storm, how to help farmers start a new farming season safely and effectively.
Shrimp is still the main seafood product in the National agricultural development strategy and farmers play a very important role in the whole industry, therefore, even small actions will create great strength and confidence to help farmers overcome difficulties, contributing to the revival of the aquaculture industry. The days of recovery after the storm and flood are still long, but with the optimistic and resilient spirit of the people, we believe that the difficulties will soon pass, and the lands that are suffering today will rise up and revive strongly after the storm and flood.
